How To Quit Your Job In 90 Days!

Yes, it’s true. You too could quit your job (responsibly) in just 90 days. We know you’ve been thinking about it. You’ve always wanted to do it.

Well, guess what? Here’s a nice little 90-day plan for you. Just don’t let your boss catch you reading this…

If you’re tired of having a boss and have been wanting to be on your own, or if you’ve just been looking for some new opportunity, then keep reading.

Let me ask you a few questions…

  • Are you tired of your long commute?

  • Are you tired of people telling you what to do?

  • Are you tired of slow career progression and being dependent on someone else to pay you?

  • Do you want to get paid for your efforts, not your time?

In 3 months from today, you could eliminate all of those things. Having a career in real estate is possible much more quickly than you might have imagined. If you’ve been itching to make the jump into real estate here’s a sample plan you could follow:

Month #1

Enroll in real estate classes online so you can complete them while still working your day job. Refer to the link in my email for great online school recommendations. If you have already started your online classes, then you are on the right path!

1 month to do this is a good benchmark. I have seen people complete all of their classes in two weeks and others who have taken 3 months to do it. It really all depends on you and it can depend on the state you are in as well. Bottom line, step #1 is to just get started with your classes!

Month #2

Apply for, study, and take your licensing exam.

The real estate test can be challenging.  In order to make sure you don’t have to take it more than once, we highly recommend you put in some study time before you take it. It might have been a while since you were in school and had to study for a big test, but that’s ok.

Remember when you were in school and had to study for a midterm? Same idea. You’ll want to put in serious study time and make sure you know the material. It takes way less time to study upfront and pass the test the 1st time than it does to take it multiple times. Many states have an online test prep program you can do through your real estate school provider. These are great tools to help you in preparing for passing your licensing exams!

So here’s the order: apply, study, take

Apply for the test first. We recommend this because usually, it will take your state’s real estate commission to process your application so you can take the test.

Parallel path. While you’re waiting to be able to take your test, use that waiting period to study for your test. We recommend putting your test date 2 weeks out if possible from when you apply. Here’s the trick: GET IT ON THE CALENDAR.

Once you get that test date on the calendar it will motivate you to get ready for it. If you just say, “I’m going to wait until I’m completely ready before I apply for my test,” it will take you MUCH longer. It’s just a psychological principle. When you have that date looming on the calendar, you’ll get ready for it. And 2 weeks is a good amount of time to get ready.

Month #3

Connect with Keller Williams!

Congratulations, you have completed your real estate classes and passed your test! And you did all that while still having a job. But don’t worry; it’s almost time to quit. The last thing to do is select the right Keller Williams office for you.

The perfect time to do this is to notify us when you are 2 weeks out from taking your exam. We will have a personal phone call with you to answer any questions you have about joining Keller Williams. A lot of people can get confused in this stage and end up stalling when it comes to launching their new real estate career.

We exist to make this process as easy and seamless as possible for you. You can schedule our one-on-one phone call by going to our email and clicking on the link to select a time that works best for you.

End of Month 3

Quit your job and go full-time in real estate. Celebrate!

We recommend you start with having a few months of your living expense reserves saved up in the bank. Then you’re ready to leave your old job with your old boss and your old commute behind.

A new life awaits you. It’s one that’s exciting, ever-changing, and has unlimited income potential. If you can make that commitment to jump into it full-time as soon as you get your license and follow the models Keller Williams has to teach you, then in a few months you’ll be wondering, “why didn’t I do this sooner?”

Can’t wait until you join the KW family!
